Our Firehawk's are capable of meeting your demanding missions.  Our capabilities include:

Wildland and Urban interface fire fighting in every geographic environment working with Local, State, and Federal protection agencies.  All risk missions including rescue with our hoist equipped mission capable aircraft.  Hurricane relief/Recovery support.  Flying in and supporting Movie, Television, and Commercial productions.  Military/Aerospace R & D programs for weapons and systems development.  External Lift and aerial crane missions with up to a 9000 lb lift capacity - the largest in the southeast United States.

Fire Fighting

The fasted type 1 helicopter carded for Fire fighting in the US.  Each Firehawk is equipped with  up to a 900 gallon variable capacity SEI Industries "Bambi" bucket.  We also carry 530, 660, and 800 US Gallon buckets with each machine for working at extreme altitudes.  The Firehawk's are also equipped with a belly mounted down looking video cameras, and highly accurate radar altimeters.  The Firehawk's are each dispatched with a 5000 gallon fuel tanker ( 5 days worth of fuel ) and a service truck, containing a 16,000 gallon Heli-well, and a Heli-basket, which can carry 4500 Lbs. of cargo, or safely evacuate up to 15 persons in the event of an emergency such as a natural disaster or a fire.

 

Media Production

Brainerd Helicopters has experience in both large production movies and commercials.  Our customers include such movies as Universal Solder, The Manchurian Candidate, and similar productions that wish to secure an accurate up to date aircraft that reflects current military inventories rather than using the same old Viet Nam era Huey's.  Our Commercials include Lexus Automobile, United Technology, and Sikorsky Aircraft.  The color and paint scheme of our helicopters can be changed in as little as 2 day, using a temporary peelable paint system manufactured by Spray-Lat.

Research and Development

Brainerd Helicopters has over 18 years experience in the military/aerospace research and development test flying arena.  We have participated in the development test flying in such systems as the Apaches TADS/PNVS and Apache Longbow Millimeter Wave Radar system and the LATIRN Navigation and Targeting Pod system for the F-16 and the F-15 fighters.

Aerial Crane

Firehawk helicopters has over 30 years experience in the lifting and placement of air conditioners, air handlers, Bridge Pieces, Construction Equipment, Construction Supplies, Dam Construction and related types of external lift and aerial crane missions.  We perform many missions per year changing out old or damaged air conditioners on warehouses, retail stores, malls, and often difficult or impossible to reach jobs with a crane.  Also our helicopters our quick accomplishment of your external lift mission accomplishing the mission with minimal impact our your construction or store schedule.
